Metro’s Hidden Heritage

The Paris Metro is full of an historical heritage, unkown by its users. There is for example a network of eight ghost stations, closed since WWII, housing some vestiges of this age including trains and unique ads.
This research work consists of highlighting the strong poetic potential of this common environment, where heritage to the past and life experiences meet.

Graduation project.

Reconstruction of the metro as a fantasized place, almost fictional.

This model was designed to reclaim metro space in all its aspects. It’s composed of several layers that stack in a logical order ranging from the surface to the underground construction to finish with the experience space. Indeed, the deepest layer of the model can be read in combination with typographical sheets with different reading levels. These sheets reveal various memories, historical stories or fantasized realities related to the metro according to the color of the layer which superimposes them.

Plexiglass object made with the laser cutting, typographical sheets, instructions, stand in wood, 19 x 24 x 17 cm.
